Child (a poem)

Child (3-26-10)

The child sees the world

through loving eyes

perspective playmates surround them

if left to their own devices

compassion they extend

no dollar signs

or status symbols

in the laughter of

a child

if allowed

they play

and love the same

or poor

without a push

they may not look

for the gizmo

or gatchet

that makes them rise up

if surrounded by love

all they learn is love

if surrounded by acceptance

they know only to accept

if given enough

they will not long for more

So true. I truly cannot relate when people tell me they don’t like children. How can you not?

The most real fact about children. I give a thousand thanks to the poet. We should learn a lot of things from this poem and children too. The poet has opened a new horizon to think for us. we teach and guide children how to become human. But after reading this poem i thought that they are teaching and showing with their innocent behaviour how to become human. and another fact in this poem is that what they became depends on us. it depends on what we are, how we are, or what we made them.
Very simple poem but very meaning full and great poem.
    Thank you
